Rob Sand
Rob Sand was born and raised in Decorah, Iowa. He spent seven years as Iowa’s chief public corruption prosecutor, locking up scammers, taxpayer abusers, and violent criminals, and holding corrupt politicians in both parties accountable — even uncovering the largest lottery rigging scheme in American history. Rob has served two terms as Iowa’s State Auditor, uncovering millions of dollars in misspent money and more waste, fraud, and abuse in a single term than any other Auditor in state history. Rob coined the PIE program – Public Innovations and Efficiencies – which awards cities, counties, and school districts across the state for their efficiency efforts. Rob’s program is so effective that there are participants in all Iowa counties, and it has been copied in two other states – including by the Republican State Auditor of Mississippi. The insiders that run state government reacted to Rob’s reelection in 2022 by working to strip the Auditor’s Office of its powers. Now, Rob is running for governor to make state government more accountable, make life more affordable for Iowans, and help Iowans live better, healthier lives.
